DAI is based on algorithm developed and implemented by Daniel Larimer back in 2014 that can be seen in bitCNY and bitUSD type assets. Same algorithm was used to create long term return pegs like to S&P500 or to USD with algorithmic 5% annual increase in value (HERO token). Staking has been around since even before 2014 with standard pure PoS developed by blackcoin team around then as the most common types of PoS in existence. DAO’s were first developed and implemented by Daniel Larimer as well back in 2014. Prediction markets on blockchains were first created by Daniel Larimer in 2015, before Ethereum existed. Ethereum has done nothing for this space, done nothing for DeFi, and can be easily shown has never even been decentralized since they centrally printed almost the entire supply of incentives that are normally distributed in decentralized manner for security that Ethereum has none of.
